What are Eyelash Extensions?
These eyelash extensions are not to be confused with the self-stick strip falsies OR individual clusters of lashes. They are semi-permanent, synthetic extensions which are glued one by one onto your natural lash (NOT THE SKIN). This is done by using a specially formulated glue that lasts 4-5 weeks. Single synthetic eyelashes are applied to your own natural eyelash to achieve a beautiful, luscious and long (or short) set of lashes that are natural-looking and comfortable.
Do they hurt? How long does it take?
When applied properly, you won’t even feel them on. Every salon varies in technique but at The Lash Loft, the application process takes an hour or less for the initial full set and is painless and relaxing. Depending on the type of fill you need thereafter, it can take anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes. Fills are prorated, pricing is determined by the number of weeks it has been since your last fill.
Is there anything I should do before my first appointment?
To ensure the longest lash life for your extensions, it is imperative that clients come in with a clean face. Most importantly, clean upper lashes. It is also important to note that the cleaner you keep your eye area/lash line, the longer your extensions will last. Even if clients do not wear makeup regularly, oils from skin and dead skin cells can still build up near extensions causing shedding and at times irritation. To keep lashes clean, gently wash over lids with wet fingertips or a wet cutip using an oil-free, eye safe cleanser. After washing your face (or showering) if lashes are wet, wait a few minutes then separate gently (without tugging!) using a spoolie wand given during first appointment. This will ensure adhesive will “re-harden” keeping lashes sleek and separated, not clumpy looking.
Can I get a fill from The Lash Loft if I have lashes on from a previous place?
Yes, however please note that when coming from another salon for a fill, we charge based on the amount of time it takes us to fill your lashes regardless of how long it’s been since you visited a different salon. To ensure excellent looking lashes, The Lash Loft technicians reserve the final right to determine if a client’s current lashes need to be removed before we apply any new extensions.
How long do they last?
When applied properly, eyelash extensions will last as long as your natural lash growth cycle. A one time application can last anywhere from 4 to 5 & 1/2 weeks. Lash extensions are low maintenance and the frequency of your fills depends on how well you take care of them as well as personal preference.
Taking care of your lashes consists of;
*Not touching or picking at them (This is a big one!)
*Staying out of steam for the first 24 hours after your initial application
*Using OIL-FREE make-up remover and make up products
*Refraining from applying mascara onto your lash extensions
*Maintaining a clean face/lash line
Our clients find that keeping a full and fresh appearing look is not difficult to maintain.
Will they harm my natural lashes?
Again, when applied properly by a professional, eyelash extensions will NOT harm your natural lashes. In fact, they help your real lashes grow in thicker due to the absence of rubbing your mascara off, curling your lashes, or rubbing your eyes. Your first initial set of eyelash extensions is the thinnest they’ll ever be. This is because each time you come in for a fill there will be more natural lash growth and therefore more for us to glue extensions onto.
I am getting married, should I book a few days before my wedding or a few weeks?
Typically brides do one of two things when getting extensions for the first time for their wedding. Either they book as close as possible to the big day to ensure the lashes look as fresh as they can (usually better for time crunched brides, or those who live farther away), or brides book an initial appointment a few weeks out and schedule fills leading up to the wedding. Either method works just fine but booking a couple appointments guarantee clients love the look they are getting as well as allowing the extensions to thicken up from the multiple fills vs just the one. Going this route also means the length can be adjusted if desired during the next fill.
How much do they cost?
At The Lash Loft we are devoted to keeping our clients happy. This is why we not only want to help enhance your natural beauty, but also make it affordable to do so. We are able to keep our prices modest because we do lashes all day, every day. Because it’s our only service, not an added service, we are fast while staying attentive to your needs.
Full Set of Lashes: $80
1 Week Fill: $20
2 Week Fill: $30
3 Week Fill: $40
4 Week Fill: $50
Up-charges may occur if more lashes have shed or fallen out than what is typical for the fill that is booked. Your specific lash technician reserves the right to determine this.
How do I know what fill I should book?
Your fills should be book based on how long it has been since your initial application/last application.
1 Week Fill: 1-7 days
2 Week Fill: 8-14 days
3 Week Fill: 15-21 days
4 Week Fill: 22-30 daysBecause fill appointments vary based on time and amount of materials used, it is important to book correctly so your technicians can fill your lashes as full as possible. If you have shed more lashes than normal, book up a fill to ensure enough time. It may not always be necessary, but better to have more time than not enough!
Do you have a cancellation policy?
The Lash Loft requires clients to give at least 24 hours of notice before cancelling an appointment. Clients who no-call no-show may be subject to a restriction from booking future appointments without payment first. There is no cancellation fee for the first time, however each individual lash technician reserves the right to deny clients booking if there are constant cancellations or they may require payment before being able to book.
Do you do removals?
Yes, if you decide to discontinue with fills, we do offer removals as a service for $30-$40. Otherwise, letting them shed out with your natural lashes is the best way to do this. To speed up this process, you can use baby or coconut oil (or an oil based product) as well as using steam, essentially everything we tell you to stay away from when you are trying to maintain the extensions.
Could I have a reaction from the extensions?
The Lash Loft only employs trained professionals to apply the extensions and clients should be assured they are in safe and capable hands. That being said, our bodies can have an overreaction to anything foreign they come in contact with. It should be noted that if you are prone to allergies, extensions may further irritate your eyes. However, this is very rare and clients should let their technician know about allergies prior to
the application.
The Lash Loft Policies
Existing Lashes
We are able to service clients with lashes currently from another salon, however it is VERY important that you either let your technician know on the phone when booking, or add a note to your online booking. We need to allow for ample time to be able to fill clients. So although it may have only been two weeks from your last fill at a different place, we advise that you book up a week (so in this case, a 3 week fill), to make sure your technician is not rushed and can adjust to the lashes you currently have. Unfortunately in some cases, your technician may recommend a removal first and a fresh set if the current lashes are harming your natural ones. This will also be recommended if the lashes a client has are too different from our own (ie, clusters). In any case, your lash technician has the right to reschedule you if time is not properly booked or if current lashes are not healthily applied. It’s best to always check before booking.
Kids
Although we love our clients’ kids almost as much as we love our clients, unfortunately we have to ask you to leave the little ones at home. We want to create the most relaxing experience possible for all of our clients as well as give the highest quality lash experience. In addition to liability issues and wanting to ensure the safety of everyone, we are unable to supervise children while clients are being serviced. Please note that due to this policy, we unfortunately must reschedule all clients who come with children.
Cancelling
To keep our busy schedules and yours running smoothly, please respect your appointment time by providing a minimum of 24 hours notice when canceling or rescheduling. Please be advised that multiple last minute cancellations can result in a temporary restriction of booking until a pre-payment of your appointment is made. Cancellations due to weather will be exempt from the fee, however each individual lash technician reserves the right to deny clients booking if there are constant last minute cancellations/changes.
Please note that while emailing us is a great way to get questions answered, it is NOT the fastest way to reach us, especially when attempting to change or cancel an appointment within the 24 hour period. Calling us is the most efficient way to do this.
Running Late
Each appointment has an allotted amount of time for that service and because of this, we cannot tolerate any tardiness. Occasionally, there may be an exception but ALWAYS call your technician if you are running late so they are aware you’re coming and let you know if you need to reschedule instead. Calling does not necessarily guarantee we can still honor your appointment slot. We can hold a spot for up to 10 minutes past appointment time, but any amount of time after that will require clients to reschedule. As much as we hate to deny clients because of tardiness, we take a great amount of pride in our work (and we want you too as well!), so attempting to complete a rush job is not our style.
No-Call No-Shows
In order to keep our booking site hassle-free, we do not require clients’ credit card information prior to booking an appointment. However, in order to maintain this, we can not tolerate a no-call/no-show for an appointment. Non-compliance with this policy will require a pre-payment to reserve any future booking. Additionally, a no-show fee will be added on to the amount of the next booked appointment.
Refunds
If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your service, please note that refunds are not able to be given. That being said, we will go above and beyond to make sure this does not happen and correct any issues a client may have.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in these policies, as they work together to ensure your experience is relaxing and your lashes are flawless !
